Saturday, September 10

General Admission Parking will be at Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) (501 College Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22902). Please allow at least 30 minutes for travel time from PVCC to the festival. Directional signage and staff will be along Route 20 to direct you to PVCC.

The first shuttle will leave PVCC at 8:30 a.m. and shuttles will run continually throughout the festival until all visitors have returned to the parking lot. The festival hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Space on the shuttle buses is limited; we recommend traveling light. Pets are not permitted on the shuttle buses nor at the festival.

For Preferred Parking at the David M. Rubenstein Visitor Center on Saturday, September 10th, you must purchase a Festival VIP Pass.

Please be advised that workshops and lectures in the David M. Rubenstein Visitor Center are a 15 minute walk or shuttle ride from the mountaintop festival site. Please plan your schedule to allow for travel time.

Friday, September 9

The Friday Festival Opening Night with Patrick O’Connell will be held in the historic Paramount Theatre. (215 East Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902). Please be advised that The Paramount Theatre is approximately 15 minutes from Monticello. Please plan extra time to find a parking space as parking is not immediately available next to The Paramount Theater. Parking is available at the Water Street garage, located at  200 E Water St.; Charlottesville, VA 22902 and in the Market Street parking garage 504 E Market St, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Limited street parking is available on the street in Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall area.

For all Premium Workshops on Friday, September 9th free parking will be available at the David M. Rubenstein Visitor Center.

Directions

From Washington, D.C. and points North:

Take Interstate 66 West to U.S. 29 South at Gainesville. Follow U.S. 29 South into Charlottesville and look for the signs for the U.S. 250 West/U.S. 29 South Bypass. Follow this bypass to Interstate 64 East (direction Richmond). Take Interstate 64 East and get off at Exit 121A onto Va. Route 20 South (direction Scottsville). Turn right at College Drive. Drive up the hill to the PVCC parking lots.

From Richmond and points East:

Take Interstate 64 West to Exit 121 at Charlottesville. At the end of the exit ramp turn left onto Va. Route 20 South. Take the first right onto College Drive. Drive up the hill to the PVCC parking lots.

From Lynchburg and points South:

Take U.S. 29 North to Charlottesville. Take Interstate 64 East (direction Richmond) and get off at Exit 121A onto Va. Route 20 South (direction Scottsville). Take the first right onto College Drive. Drive up the hill to the PVCC parking lots.

From Staunton and points West:

Take Interstate 64 East to Charlottesville and get off at Exit 121A onto Va. Route 20 South (direction Scottsville). Take the first right onto College Drive. Drive up the hill to the PVCC parking lots.
