Seed Swap & Photo Booth

Saturday, Sep. 21st: 10 am - 5 pm Tasting Tent
Included with Admission

Like other similar events held around the country, our festival seed swap is a lively affair featuring seeds saved by fellow gardeners from across the country! You don’t have to bring heirloom seeds to trade. If you are someone who looks longingly at a wooden bowl filled with brown speckled beans or shiny, black seeds, you’re invited!

Stop by the Seed Swap Booth, located in our Tasting Tent, to connect with fellow gardeners, share gardening tips and hear about ways to access rare, open-pollinated and heirloom seeds. Kathryn Gilbery of Seed Savers Exchange will be sharing how you can participate in the exchange at the organization’s 44-year-old international seed swap!

And meet Roger Wynn, South Carolina’s “Seed Saver of the Year”, who will share his amazing heirloom seed collection and stories!

New This Year!

Festival attendees will enjoy a special treat this year thanks to our friends and festival hosts at Seed Savers Exchange! Located just beyond the Tasting Tent you’ll find the Seed Savers Exchange Photo Booth, where folks of all ages can dress in costume and have their personalized photo placed on a seed packet (complete with heirloom seeds) to take home. Smile and say SEED!

Seed Savers Exchange is a nonprofit that aims to preserve and promote America’s culturally diverse but endangered garden and food crop heritage for future generations by collecting, growing and sharing heirloom seeds and plants. Learn more at
