Gregory Britt began gardening at a very young age while growing up in Indiana. While studying art history and painting in college, he worked in several small florist shops and event design companies. After graduating, Britt relocated to New York City, and began a star-studded freelance career working with the city’s major design stars while continuing with his love of painting.
Gregory Britt Design was born in 1999. Britt traveled the world with an amazing roster of clients to create personal and professional celebrations. Putting his own business on hold, his next move was to the charming village of Washington, Virginia, where he spent a decade at the world-renowned Inn at Little Washington as their in-house floral and event designer. Ten years later, Britt relocated to Charlottesville, and in 2018 announced the rebirth of his design business.
Today, Britt lives just outside Charlottesville in Keswick, Virginia on a farm with dogs, cats, horses and, of course, gardens. He maintains his childhood love of the magic of putting seeds in the ground to nurture into beautiful flowers, and grows dahlias, celosias, cosmos, zinnias, sunflowers, boxwood, magnolias, honey suckle, herbs and much more – just outside his front door.
